There are many factors to consider when evaluating a region for business investment. Throughout the past decade Yuma County has developed and expanded their strong manufacturing base. The business-friendly environment, available labor pool and high quality of life make the region a desirable location for manufacturing operations. Manufacturing companies such as Allied West Paper, ALSCO, Alside, Johnson Controls (Fortune 500), Northwestern Industries, Shaw Industries (Fortune 500) and Superlite Block have either built new facilities or expanded their operations recently due to the abundant labor force, strong support services and strategic location

Yuma Manufacturers' Association

The Yuma Manufacturing Association is a collaboration of private industry and education uniting to improve the workforce in the Yuma region. Due to the increasing presence of advanced manufacturing firms in Yuma, the YMA was formed to create a regional resource network for manufacturers operating in Yuma County. The YMA seeks to identify and share best production, management and human resource practices through monthly meetings. The group consist of area plant, human resource and operations managers as well as maintenance technicians with the purpose of encouraging interface between industry leadership in the region.
